On Sunday, March 28, 9 pm, NBC Television presents
"Mutiny", a special movie of the week chronicling the events
surrounding the 1944 Port Chicago incident, a drama based on
actual events that raises questions of honor, heroism and
courage during wartime.
Michael Jai White ("Spawn"), Duane Martin ("Scream 2") and
David Ramsey ("Con Air") portray members of the doomed unit
assigned to load the one of the two destroyed ships.
The story follows three young black naval enlistees from boot
camp to the aftermath of the explosion. It explores their coming
of age in the arduous military environment; the strong
friendships they forge through adversity; and their political and
moral awakening borne from the disaster and subsequent trial.
The production also features Adrian Pasdar ("Profit"), Joe
Morton ("Speed"), Matthew Glave ("The Wedding Singer")
and James Sikking ("Hill Street Blues").
"Mutiny" is executive produced by three-time Oscar nominee
Morgan Freeman ("The Shawshank Redemption," "Driving
Miss Daisy," "Street Smart"), Lori McCreary ("Bopha!") and
David Israel ("Pandora's Clock," "Turks"). Anthony Santa
Croce ("Felicity") is the producer; Kevin Hooks ("Passenger
57," "Glory & Honor") directed from a teleplay by award-winning writer Jim Henerson ("The Love Letter," "Tempest").
Revelations Entertainment and Big Dog Productions, in
association with NBC Studios, are proud to bring this
important story to the screen.
